Finding biology everywhere: considerations for making biology and science accessible

Dr Melanie Peffer (University of Colorado, Boulder)
Melanie has a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a postdoc appointment in learning sciences at Georgia State. She holds a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado. She combines her expertise in biology and learning to study how people learn, understand, and engage with biology content. She recently published "Biology Everywhere: How the Science of Life Matters to Everyday Life," which focuses on biology as part of our everyday experience.

Electrifying Transit: Battery Electric Buses

Kamyria Coney (Researcher at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL))
Kamyria has lived in Colorado since she was 5. She has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and Mathematics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a master's degree in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver. During her master's studies, she focused her capstone project on sustainable transportation and held an internship with Environment Colorado. Currently, Kamyria is a Researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) focusing on transport electrification policies domestically and internationally.
